Facebook says " we are open to meaningful regulation"

Facebook has said its opened to meaningful regulation in response to British Lawmakers


British lawmakers said, that leaders in the technology space should be subjected to a compulsory code of ethics to curb the spread of fake news and abuse of users’ data. With this, Facebook responded on Monday that it’s “open to meaningful regulation”

Karim Palant, Facebook’s public policy manager, stated: “we are open to meaningful regulation and support the committee’s recommendation for electoral law reform.”

In addition, Palant stated that Facebook is “not the same company” it was a year ago and had already made enormous changes to its procedure and privacy policies.

We reported earlier that Facebook was facing a multi-billion dollar fine by the Federal Trade Commission bothering on the improper use and negligence on users’ data and privacy respectively.
